Active movement and contractions muscle leg of frog
Purpose : To observe active move and contractions muscle leg of frog.
Problem : How is the active move and contractions muscle leg of frog?
Hypotesis : The muscle leg of frog will contract and active move when it is excited by electric current and HCl dropped.
Basic Theory :
Muscle that is active movement, but the skeleton is passive movement. Ability of muscle to contraction is caused by some activities. Our body can move from one place to another place. It can be strongest boxing and soften of eyes wink. The muscle activity can make the skeleton move. The muscle can be short and become thick if the muscle is contraction, and it can be long if the the muscle is relaxation.
Instrument and Materials:
Instrument:
· Statif
· Yarn
· Petri disc
·
· Cable
· Surgery board
· Pin / pinset ( jarum)
· Scissors
Material:
· Muscle leg of frog
· HCl solution
· Ringer
How to do:
1. Rearange instrument like the picture bellow!

2. Put the frog in surgery board use pins
3. Take the leg by cut the leg of frog use scissors
4. Soak the leg muscle of frog in finger liquid before to set!
5. Pay the muscle don’t make it dry until the practicum ends, with put the finger liquid
6. Give impulse the leg of frog using electric current by tendon 5 time, each the impuls in one minute.
7. Do the activity like the fourth steps. The impulse exchange with HCl. Put a drop HCl to leg muscle of frog.
Date Table:
| Kinds impulse | Time (minutes) | Explanations | ||||
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | ||
| Electric current | + (51) | + (32) | + (24) | + (21) | + (18) | Times per minute |
| HCl | + (13) | + (3) | - | - | - | Times per minute |
Analyze:
1. When the leg of frog is given impulse of electric current, at the 1st minute the leg of frog give reaction (contraction and relaxation) 51 times.
2. When the leg of frog is given impulse of electric current, at the 2nd minute the leg of frog give reaction (contraction and relaxation) 32 times.
3. When the leg of frog is given impulse of electric current, at the 3rd minute the leg of frog give reaction (contraction and relaxation) 24 times.
4. When the leg of frog is given impulse of electric current, at the 4th minute the leg of frog give reaction (contraction and relaxation) 21 times.
5. When the leg of frog is given impulse of electric current, at the 5th minute the leg of frog give reaction (contraction and relaxation) 18 times.
6. When the leg of frog is given impulse of HCl solution, at the 1st minute the leg of frog give reaction (contraction and relaxation) 13 times.
7. When the leg of frog is given impulse of HCl solution, at the 2nd minute the leg of frog give reaction (contraction and relaxation) 3 times.
8. When the leg of frog is given impulse of HCl solution, at the 3rd minute the leg of frog didn’t give reaction (contraction and relaxation).
9. When the leg of frog is given impulse of HCl solution, at the 4th minute the leg of frog didn’t give reaction (contraction and relaxation.
10. When the leg of frog is given impulse of HCl solution, at the 5th minute the leg of frog didn’t give reaction (contraction and relaxation
Discussion:
1. How the effect leg of muscle if give some impuls ?
The leg of muscle if give some impuls will have some contractions.
2. Between the both differences treatment, which one the treatment is faster stop the contraction and the slower reaction ?
Faster stop contraction is HCl solution .
Slower stop contraction is the electricity .
3. What is the conclusion based on the above activity ?
The conclusion is when the leg of muscle was given by impuls would had some contractions, while when the leg of muscle wasn’t given by implus would had no contraction, but they had some relaxations.
4. Muscle need energy to contractions, were come from the energy is got ? Give explanation !
Energy o contraction came from its cell respiration’s result. Named ATP .
5. What happen if the muscle doesn’t give impuls ?
The muscle will not have a contraction . But, they just have a relaxation .
Conclution:
1. When the leg of muscle was given by impuls would had some contractions
2. While when the leg of muscle wasn’t given by implus would had no contraction, but they had some relaxations.
3. Muscle need energy to contraction. And the energy come from ATP (its cell respiration’s result).
